Waiting for my Order/Bus Poem #1

Yesterday I took the bus and metro around town to Echo Park and the Grove, embarking on another “urban adventure.”  The long ride, while bumpy, is a blessing in disguise.  I always get to do my best reading & poem writing.

Waiting for my Order

Casual recognition

from a new set of eyes:

a hello and a glance

that wishes to know

the keeper of the soul behind it.

Looking familiar to a stranger,

meeting the reincarnation:

a good friend & lover

that always smelled faintly of single-origin coffee.
